But musically he isnt from that school of music, and he didnt have those relationships on the way up that would cause him to feel obligated to help them dudes...

Drake has said himself on numerous occasions, if he could sing well enough to tour as a singer he would be a singer. He doesn't have the range or vocal technique to successfully perform singing records in the harsh conditions of live concert settings... as a result he diversified into focusing on rap and integrating some singing... really by his own admission he would prefer to be a singer who integrates some rapping...
