Ive been saved since I was 19. Hasn't been my experience. But Ive known people who have been hurt by church people or question God existence because of past trauma, so I understand. But not my experience

So yeah the thread title isn't wrong but it's very surface level. So much it it begins with be repressed (largely BECAUSE of religion btw) and porn consumers are looking to fill a particular void and porn can be a "safe" way to cultivate a variety of sexual experiences and expressions for people who are afraid or don't know how to interact with people in person.

The issue is a lot of those desires never, ever, EVER get grounded in reality. Constantly externalizing your sexuality, searching for the 'juiciness' of life in the 2 dimensional world can leave you ungrounded and interacting with women/people like something you see on a screen instead of a flesh and blood human being.

On a spiritual level, when I was younger and consumed a lot of porn I was really just trying to get grounded. It was a way to bring my attention back to my body after having a lot of it externalized because of childhood trauma and abuse. When your dikk is hard and your belly is warm you are in the present moment, as long as you aren't projecting it all onto a screen or even a body in front of you. A lot of men are searching for a grounding cord and that's the only way they know how to get it.
