Judge is saying that the jury didn’t not apply the proper standard. To receive punitive damages in addition to actual damages under whatever statute your misappropriation must be willful or done on purpose. The judge is saying the lawyers didn’t prove that. Judges are able to reduce damage rewards returned from juries. They can also appeal the judge’s reduction.
