It's funny because most people remember Paul Wall's verse from this song likely cause T.I.s verse only made it to late printed deluxe versions IIRC. Kanye sent him the song late - but the verse was so fire he made sure it was in the video.

T.I snapped - impeccable flow and same rhyme scheme throughout while painting vivid pictures :wow:

He's one of those rappers, like Jada, that I don't think I've ever heard a wack verse from, but this legit might be one of his best

love this song - still feels fresh late night in the whip

Kanye got the best verse on Drive Slow. It's not even close

From a storytelling perspective alone it's a profound hip hop verse. Every kid in the hood at some point has experienced the older friend, or even just a nikka you see around, that you look at and go "That's what I want. I wanna stunt and have hoes like _____"

The perspective of Kanye's verse in Drive Slow is where everything starts for a young black boy. Even when you take T.I.'s verse into consideration and the things he's saying about his past, all of that starts with the same perspective Kanye is rapping about in that first verse. T.I. represents that fork in the road where he decided to drive fast

Kanye's homie Marley was the hood superstar that so many black boys risk everything trying to become

"See back back then then if you had a car you was the Chi town version of Baby":wow:

And the layers get even deeper when you consider the fact that Marley protected Kanye which allowed him to be himself, fostering the genius he would become:wow:

yeah, this is my favorite version, I love that verse and beat. The rest of the verses don't have the intensity of TI because of his obvious life experiences. Sometimes GLC and Wall's are too goofy and low stakes. Ye's was very childhood nostalgic. TI was actually pretty heavy with regret and guilt.

but, it's never on any of the streaming versions if you throw it on when you are passing around the phone and picking songs.
