Gucci mane did invent it

That So Icy Song was the start of the trap movement, and it was his song jeezy featured on it

TI named his album Trap Muzik but it was not the trap music lmao, thats like naming an album ghetto muzik its just a title

The trap sound, Gucci invented and all these mumble rappers today are his sons, thats just a fact

thats why Gucci is still making hits and TI music is trash because he comes from the CRUNK ERA, he was never a trap artist

/argument.

Gucci can effortlessly slide into modern rap because it's the sound he created. T.I sounds like a and old nikka trying to keep up because that's what he is.

Theres to many layers to this argument.

The actual "sound" of trap music started in Memphis. The stutering hi hats, low 808 bass and horror movie backdrops etc..Three Six sound from back then still has a chokehold on todays culture.

Metro Boomin says it himself at :34

Not to mention Yo Gotti who back in the rarly 2000s was making trap music before anybody in Atlanta

this

+ the modern take from atl

Even today, you hear producers with the traditional style of trap music but yet the rappers aren’t even talking about trapping so to me it’ll always be defined by production
Yep, in my head trap music has always been like G-funk in that it’s about the production first. While others seem to think that it should be southern and about selling dope, some just the usage of the word trap and others just selling dope period.

TI wrong as fukk. Ghetto Mafia (da Hard Boyz as well) were precursors to all that shyt regarding da introduction of trap mrusic. Outkast & Dungeon Family then told ya'll da meaning of da trap w/Coolbreeze coining da term Dirty Souf. Ya'll lil' green, wet behind da ears, young dweebs don't know shyt. Especially ya'll junior peckerwoods .

For the millionth time. And every time this subject comes up and someone mentions ghetto mafia everyone ignores it like it ain’t been said.

I’m thinking that’s just because alotta these dudes don’t know who ghetto mafia is and never heard they music. And that’s what ti is counting on.

What I’d like to know is why ghetto mafia never really collaborated with anyone else in Atlanta. Not that I care cause they music jams but I’ve always wondered that. I remember reading an article with them years ago where they was kinda talking about it but i don’t remember.

Word. Muthafukkas choose to ignore it. Partly because most of these dudes were born in da mid/late 90's and only know trap mrusic from mainstream artists such as Jeezy, TI & Gucci. They ain't know nu'n about them Ghetto Mafia nikkas from da 6, matter of fact, nikkas from da old Atlanta days. Nino & Wicked was really about da shyt they rapped about too.

Uhh, I remember trappin', late at the sto'
Had no idea, what I was in fo' :Wowdreds:
Just me and my nikka, supplyin fiends
Broke as hell,
chasin dreams

:Jbaby:

Never buy dope, without a scale :Sswun:
Learned that while I was trappin', in Scottsdale
And did I mention, we livin greater
(Where?) In Decatur

:Jbaby:

I've been trappin' so long, people call me don
Where you from? Straight From the Dec

Back in 1999 I had no idea what trappin was because that word wasn't big like that. Matter of fact I thought they were saying tramping because that somehow made more sense in my head :Fframe:. Like lady and the tramp :Fframe:

I been tramping so long, nikkas call me don :Soulglo2:

Never buy dope
Without a scale
Learned that while I was tramping :whew:
In Scottsdale

Whether they were trapping or tramping, this song is dope and they straight had a young gabbo wanting a part of that tramping life :Soulglo2:
