Because you're locked into it for 2 years :wtf:

Buy the shyt outright so you're not forced into stupid deals. For all you know the next Iphone could be a dud, but you'll be obligated to upgrade because you've already paid them more than the damn thing is worth.
You're locked into what for 2 years?

You don't understand how these contract work

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
You're not locked into anything. There's no contract. If you want to keep your iphone 6s when the 7 comes out thats your choice. Of you could jump & get the 7 or any other phone you want.

24 months and the phone is yours, if not you have to return it, you're locked into them and their service.

:dead: One says there's no contract, the other says that's not how the contracts work.

You don't own the phone until it's paid off in 2 years.

$0 at signing + monthly payments for 18-mos. O.A.C. If you cancel wireless service, remaining payments become due & you must return working device.

What are you proving?

When you pay the phone off its yours.( 2 years, 1 year or 6 months)

Which is a better option than paying a lump sum up front.

The phone and service are seperate.

Yeah it turns out to be a leasing plan if you keep upgrading.

People are literally playing ~$300 a year just to stay current.

That's what he's missing, you only "own" the phone at the end of 2 years, but you're going to upgrade before that because they know that's what people do. And once they have you on the cycle you better believe the price of their service will go up next year, and the year after.

Do people think these companies are in the business of losing money? They want you to do this for a damn reason.

Lump sum up front, that way I don't end up paying more than the phone is actually worth :yeshrug:

You are paying more than the phone is worth by paying a lump sum of money up front.

People are literally playing ~$300 a year just to stay current.

This is a different argument

They are leaving that bait for you because if anything happens to that phone you are already on the hook for a full 2 year bill without the subsidized price up front like in the past. If you decide to trade it in after a year, you basically paid $300 to rent a phone. It's a cycle they don't want people to drop.

Act like deals don't exist brehs.

You're leasing a phone :yeshrug:

You own the phone once you pay it off.

How many people are upgrading every year like that?

It has to be a significant number or else they wouldn't offer these options. There are so many people who feel like they MUST own the latest galaxy or iPhone to play with the latest gimmicks.

I'm sure all of the companies love it. It's a damn cell phone, not a car :snoop:

Apple and the rest take the old phones people turn in and then sell them refurbished for a fat come up or start a new lease on another customer.

They win, the ones who have no self control lose $300 a year on top of a higher bill rather than going straight pre-paid.

How is that different from selling your phone? If I paid $800 for a phone last year and selling it for $400 today then I basically paid $400 to use that phone for a year.

I will never understand the obsession with upgrading every year anymore.

Years ago I understood it because of the spec bumps, but we are literally at a point of diminishing returns on this shyt.
I dont understand the purpose of buying weed or drinking alcohol but people still do it.

quit trying to play daddy for someone.
