Dish is going to be the 4th carrier, that's why the DOJ is going to let T-Mobile and Sprint merge.

Google Fi is out there and Spectrum/Time Warner is in the mobile game too, I don’t see Dish being any bigger than those.

The merger is interesting bc it’s the first dual GSM/CDMA carrier at least that I know of. Does that mean SMobile gets dual network phones, might would switch if I don’t get texts 5 minutes late like I did with TMO.
