The only way $80 million gets burned like that is if there's a concerted effort in place to do so. TO's situation is hardly unique and not the last. The entire NFL system, and by extension all NCAA supported pro sports, operates to make sure that all this money that these athletes get is highly regulated and quickly depleted.
