I always said if I had millions, I would play it safe and continue with my index fund investments. Just investing more obviously. Boring predictable and safe.

Warren Buffet said when he dies he'd prefer his wife to invest 90% of his total wealth in index funds, and put 10% into bonds. Last year wasn't good for index funds due to this idiotic trade war/tariffs but usually you're gonna see a nice return yearly unless a recession happens. Just looking at the Vanguard 500 index fund, the last ten year's returns:

2009: 26%
2010: 15%
2011: 2%
2012: 16%
2013: 32%
2014: 13%
2015: 1%
2016: 12%
2017: 22%
2018: -4%

:obama:

Now imagine you were a rich rapper/athlete/singer/etc and invested 10mil in 2009 (and never took any profits out).

An ex of mine owned a house on the same street he lived on in NC.

My ex said he seemed to spend more like in upper middle class person. The house was under 500k and his cars weren't crazy expensive.

Then again, he coulda been renting and leasing. He didn't live there for long.

its crazy to think about that. but I don't think there was even 1 million in existence like that back in 2011

the coins were available
even if they weren't, the mining farms woulda hauled ass to spit em out if they knew they had a big money customer waiting

Too many people invest in real estate when it's one of the riskier ventures out there....too much speculation with potentially high ROI but also massive potential for substantial losses.

Just sit on the money for a bit (index fund/ETF/Roth IRA etc)...just put it on some government bonds or something. Seems like athletes and musicians will invest in EVERYTHING but the stock market. Always found that odd. Maybe because trading stocks is harder to grasp than something more tangible like a restaurant, properties and so on
