T-Pain says he became depressed after Usher told him he "f*cked up music" with autotune.

The comment took T-Pain by surprise, and he initially thought it could’ve been a joke, but Usher then repeated himself. He said that Usher then added, “‘Yeah man you really fukked up music for real singers.’ I was like, ‘What did I do? I came out and I used Auto-Tune.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, you fukked it up.’ I’m like, ‘But I used it, I didn’t tell everybody else to start using it.’”

It's true, Auto Tune was an industry secret, they used it on Britney spears and countless other artist who can't sing in key to make them sound in tune in the studio, the robotic voice is a side effect when the plug in is trying to put the person on key but they are so off key that's the close it can get is that robotic voice because all the fukery needing to be done with the pitch to make the voice on key

it was an industry secret in 98 when Cher's engineer used it on a hit song and antares was a new company not when T-pain did. It was already heavily used in dancehall simliar to how he did in the preceding years to him coming out. how was it a secret when it was a common tool? he just changed the way people used it into something like a vocoder instead of just being pitch correction tool. that don't make it a secret master bullshytter
