He's not the right director. People keep forgetting this is a space western/samurai flick. It has more in common with Lord of the rings than Guardians of the Galaxy. It was never on some comedy light hearted shyt.
I don’t think they meant it’d be based on The Mandalorian.

Niether did I.
Oh okay, I just never got a western vibes from any of the movies outside of maybe Solo. But even still, maybe a change up is what Star Wars needs. The first two Thor movies are generally regarded as two of the weakest MCU flicks and then they switched up the tone with Ragnarok and it was a huge success. People always claim they don't want them making the same movies over and over after all :yeshrug:

The Original Trilogy felt very western to me. I think switching up the tone after those is the primary flaw and the reason people like The Mandalorian is because it feels more like the originals the everything else that came out since.
