everyone sayin it was exactly thatI been interested for years, but I looked at paying out the ass to go to school for 3 extra years like
and ended up working in IT after I graduated. My degree is in SOCI with a concentration in social inequality tho. I was really interested in how the environment I grew up in shapes outcomes for folks. Did a study on something related actually. I thought about about the idea of starting a nonprofit later in life. Thought about what career paths could help me eventually do some shyt. COVID hit and I ended up taking a job at the software company I interned with earlier in undergrad, graduated, and was chilling. Eventually my fiancée found out that I ain’t really mess with tech and that I was actually interested in law. It aligns with my interests, I can make some bread, and achieve my end goal of really making a difference for black youth in some way. She encouraged me to go for it, and here I am.I haven’t decided specifically what type of law yet. I’m gonna make that decision after getting more exposure, but I definitely want to get my pockets right, take care of my student loans, and have a position at a good firm under my belt before I transition to where I really want to be.
It was one of those weird ones where it’s damn near impossible to diagram and make the inferences.
