Not the remake, the original one made in 1974. Tubi has a lot of older movies, and I decided to watch it

It’s really good, NYC is the main character and like Taxi Driver it adds to the movie.

Plus, Quentin Tarantino outright stole from this movie with Resevoir Dogs. It’s under 2 hours, and goes by quick. Highly recommended if you are looking for something to watch

Yeah, I watched this one for the first time about 2-3 years ago. It was decent, I liked it.

I had only seen the 2009 remake with Travolta and Denzel.

Watching it with the pov of all the movies we have now, it’s a pretty good flick with cinematic events….. but I can tell when it originally came out it was a blockbuster, probably ahead of its time.

The dialogue was not only NYC it was VERY witty, the buildup to when robbers take over the train to the MTA finding out what was going on was suspenseful as fukk. They understood how to write characters and tense moments with comedy but not to the point you’re making the situation/character a joke.

Also, they did a masterful job of making side and supporting characters have importance, speaking of that I don’t think there was one BIG star in it.

The ending felt TV movie-ish but all in all, great film.
