Took the practice test, scored a 65. She said that was good...I'm thinking about doing the Navy reserves and see how that goes.

Any brehs on here in the Navy?

You usually score lower on practice tests as well.

Good luck, do well so you can have more options for rates. If you got college you might be able to advance to E3 before bootcamp.

Try to get a job with a clearance. Try to get stationed overseas or on the west coast of you can.

Edit:

Don't get married right away, don't get a vehicle you can't afford, etc

Make sure your GT score is 110 or higher when you take the ASVAB. If its not, ask to practice on it some more and retest. A GT score of 110 will open up all of the good jobs for you.

She lied. 65 ain't high. Get that shyt up to at least 90 and get your pick of a clearance job.

Study up. That test is more important than your SAT if you're really intending to get in.

It's low for Airforce and about medium for Navy.

I got like a mid 80 and still got to pick IT..

But still, shooting for a 90 is totally a great idea. Pick a good rate that's either something you're extremely interested in or something that pays well AFTER you're done with the military

I gotta a homie, that isn't too bright, and he goes to basic for the Air Force in a few weeks. He'll be basically driving around high ranking visiting officers around for his job.
:wow:
Just play your cards right and you will be fine. Save, save, and save ya bread.

BTW Your ASVAB score isn't specific to getting into a certain branch. It is specific to getting a specific job, bonus money etc that your branch of choice. Get 110 on GT portion of the test(math) and 110 for a ST score and the sky will be your limit.

If I can't find anything else I may join the military. Also, I'm the only child, so do I have to join the frontline?
They'll try to put you wherever they need. Usually they don't need anyone reluctant to join combat arms. Mostly it's service and support that they have a hard time filling. Most people willing to join ain't trying to be a cook or laundry services. Your best bet is to take the ASVAB and see where you stand.
