That seen with the little boy being tortured was pretty surreal. This is hell that I imagined if it actually exists. Tormenters that have accepted their fate and torment those who still don't want to be there.

I'm also wondering if the lead died right at the point when she got hit, or if she was reliving the entire scenario that led to her becoming a spirit. Like if she was finally coming out of a guilt phase of conscience into the reality of her situation.

Finally watched this tonight.

I was very intrigued by the beginning then when the mom popped up, I was worried they were gonna go

“Demonic monster on all 4s crawling up walls so let’s defeat it” route that all these spiritual horrors like to do now days.

Glad they avoided that and made an intense, refreshing and satisfying ending.

By the end I was begging for MIA to give it a rest so I was glad she got her just do and it didn’t end like insidious red door or nun 2.

I've heard Near Death Experiences where it's described like the movie. I too had the same reaction and thought it was one of the more memorable scenes in the movie.

The guys behind the movie said they were inspired for that scene by the Shunting scene in Society.

Society is a pretty wacky movie but I really enjoyed it. Here's the shunting scene.

Had to spin the blocc checc this after seeing an early viewing of Bring Her Byke that was done by the same directors. They both def share some of that same DNA; people & how they deal with grief + gettin' caught up in forces that don't fully understand.

This one didnt quite stick to my gut like BHB did, but part of that is probably due to a seasoned (stage) actress like Sally Hawkins putting the former on her byke compared to Wilde just gettin' started...she still did her thing tho.

And naturally, though the subject matter is dense, it's still in the setting of a chaotic next gen/social media/you succ'd my boyfriend's toes kind of environment.

That lil mf was going ham tho, tried to eye gouge himself & shyt. Shouldn't have been worried about lookin' cool mah boi

The sad silly for not reading that letter sooner too cuz maybe she would've processed her grief better.

That ending is still one of the most haunting endings i ever seen. The way the dread slowly built and moving around like everything is ok then the lights go out and reality hits

I know right? I had a bad reaction from an edible like 2 years ago where i had hit my head on the cabinet then fell to the floor. it felt like i was having a mild stroke. Blood pressure elevated high as hell and it felt like a near death experience because i couldnt move or speak but my girl was shaking me trying to get me to snap out of it.

I could see my kitchen and everybody around me. It felt like i was drowning and my breathing kept getting heavier and i could hear my thoughts but they was saying shyt i wouldnt like “u lived a good life your family had u for plenty of time”. When i started going against the negative thoughts it got harder to breathe and it was like i was arguing with myself during this shyt that lasted about 5 minutes and i could hear that heart machine beeping faster until i regain control of my body i was about to fight the EMTs that were trying to put me on the stretchee to go to the hospital.

As crazy as it sounds it felt like when i was in that state a demon tried to convince me to let go to either take over my body or take my soul because im not someone that has any deep suicidal issues so something tried to convince me that i lived enough and its ok to let go
