Todd Bowles defense has been a paper tiger for years. They put up pretty stats against bad QBs and get owned by real QBs

They never were GREAT as in top 5 guys but they were very good and respected around the league at least.
A couple days ago Ja’marr Chase just said the toughest corner he ever lined up against so far is Carlton Davis, and we saw it last year… Carlton locked him up. shyt, he has kept Diggs and other high end receivers in check multiple times
But when you have em line up against those quick twitchy guys and have these dudes in zone coverage they are food. I’ve never seen Carlton Davis look this bad his entire tenure here, even as a rookie when Brees picked on him during the season opener in 2018…
He looked even worse than that yesterday. I’m willing to write yesterday off as an outlier now that my head has cooled off, but those two corners can be upgraded. They are often injured and don’t create enough turnovers/can’t catch. It’s a damn shame the smallest dude in the secondary is carrying the entire unit. It’s gotten so bad that if you notice, teams are starting to render AWJ useless because they are just deciding “hey’ let’s not target his area of the field like that
