Tank talks too much that is his man problem. Everything that happens to him he runs on Twitter and Facebook running his mouth. Most of dudes fans are sisters and dude has pissed many of them off running his mouth on Twitter.

Also that dude needs to tour and go to casinos and everywhere else to promote his CD. Tank was an R&B star but never an R&B superstar so it will be harder for him.

However I agree that the game has changed. Black Kats who can really sing don't get put on and usually get placed in the Neo Soul category.
:wtf: Tank has NEVER been a R&B star to me. Before this last album, He ONLY had two Top 20 Hits on the
Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for his entire career. He never had a platinum album. He had only 2 albums go Gold which were his first 2 albums from the early 2000's before record sales fell the fukk off.

I only know of 2 white American males who has made it in R&B/Soul for the past 15 years, JT and Robin Thicke. And say what you want about them but JT has delivered some of the best products and Thicke flopped whenever he didn't have them hits.

Tank has been out for like 14 years and stayed in the same spot, now it has something to do with him being black? JT is 100 times better, more creative and sort of a leader in R&B/Pop music. So was Usher, Ne-Yo, Joe, The-Dream, Kells, Maxwell, D'Angelo all the way to Weeknd and Frank Ocean. Tank is just a wack, boring, "adult", singing about the same damn thing over similar production for 15 years, artist.

However if he made this discussion about someone else than himself, we can see trends in R&B as well. Mostly people from the UK (with that whole Amy Winehouse/Adele takeover), however the in the US a lot of people from pop are straight jacking what is being created in R&B and Soul, just like R&B people jacked from electronic music and on.
Basically Tank been wack and was never where he thinks he was in his head.

How is Tank "wack"? :what:He's an extremely talented singer and songwriter. There just isnt a lane in the mainstream for adult-geared r&b. You might as well call somebody like Raheem DeVaughn "wack" cuz he not in the mainstream like that.

I get his point but he didn't have to bring race into it. A lot of white artists aren't selling anymore either.

And it isn't black kids in the hood with all of the equipment to illegally download and swap music.

shyt....my lil cousin actually took advantage of that shortfall years back opening a kiosk on Peachtree street down in the ATL selling and uploading music for people at a cost.

What he was doing for a cost in the hood, most white kids were doing from the luxury of their homes.

Tank needs to shut his ass up and stop being in denial.

Raheem is "average" but Tank was always wack. Just because he sang slow songs didn't mean he was dope. When there was a peak of albums going platinum, he still wasn't even a marginal star. Mario, Ne-yo, Omarion, Musiq and I can name some more were still more successful before and after him. Trey, Joe, Ginuwine etc. he was never bigger than ANY of those dudes. He was always corny but he had a small lane because he was fine as hell. He was actually a knockoff of Jaheim at the time still made better music than him. (Handsome Rnb thug linebacker looking dude who could sing) So you can :camby:with the bullshyt. And I haven't even mentioned the groups who were in the market as well. He wasn't hanging with anyone then and now.:childplease:

:dead:@ calling somebody "wack" because they werent one of the hottest mainstream acts at the time. We'll just agree to disagree. If YOU didnt like his music then thats your opinion but I would never put "Tank" & "wack" in the same sentence.

I mean wack might've been a harsh word but he's a typical 5/10 artist.
No creativity or fresh shyt at all.

Too many RnB singers thinks that all you need is a voice. If all you have is a voice you better have an insanely good and unique voice.

traditional Soul Music sung by Black Men is DEAD

When you got Usher singing "just because you dance on a Pole....that don't make you a HOE" :snoop:

and you got Chris Brown opening the Soul Train awards with a medley that includes

"these HOES AINT LOYAL"

black men are not Serenading anymore....a lot of it is too much influence by the pop culture appeal and revenue generated by Hip Hop

every gottdamn R&B artist got a mixtape out right now :mjlol:

while real coroners with heartfelt subject matter like DWELE...DAVE HOLLISTER are being ignored and left to rot on adult contemporary r&b

different business model

I'm gonna address this in a upcoming thread discussion

cause it's a SERIOUS problem:usure:
What's the link to that thread?
