Tanking 101: Falcons Failed to Do the Smart Thing

Started 1-4 even when we were relatively healthy.

defense was always an issue tho. i dont put that on Smitty. hell we almost beat the faggit ass Saints.
GM has done well on offense but we all knew defense was an issue and that should be priority #1 this offseason​

Smitty is a defensive coordinator & the defense has always been mediocre to terrible since he's been here. He & Dimitroff deserve a ton of blame for not developing players, bad personnel moves (letting Abe go, signing Ray Edwards, signing Dunta Robinson, letting Curtis lofton go for Lofa Tatupa , letting Brent Grimes go). It's been a dumpster fire on defense with 2 coordinators in 6 yrs to boot.

BTW, we gotta go OL in the draft, I hope we fail hard enough to land the Matthews kid from Texas A&M & draft another OL starter in the 2nd round. Gotta protect Matt for this team to do anything

Has he? He drafted Matt Ryan and Julio Jones who were both sure fire can't miss prospects. To this day I still don't really agree with the Julio trade as I feel we just needed someone better than Jenkins which wouldn't have been terribly hard to do. Julio is our best player now so that's that I guess.

but besides those two who else has he picked up via the draft that's been so great?
