That’s normal, most actors would take that role for free for the exposure and screen time with that lead
She got very little screen time and I honestly forgot she was even in the movie tbh.
It wasn't like she was an A-list actress either like someone else mentioned. Shes no Angela Bassett and most of the movies she played in she played more of the supporting character roles prior to being casted in "Hidden Figures."
Proud Mary and Acrimony were awful.
I thought the "Best of Enemies" was solid though.

She didn’t really have any leverage to negotiate for more money upfront, but her agent is trash if he’s got a client with a movie going to the theaters and she didn’t atleast get some kind of point on the back end of the deal
