You are obviously new to the game. Tariq is giving black people a front row seat to how these projects work. I'm sure for you this is the first time you've seen someone crowd fund a project but it happens all the time just check kick starter.

And if you need white acceptance just look no farther, white people are doing it too.

I was fine with the first 3 films because the man deserves to make wealth but at this point he's just pimping the community off of our oppression without giving us an opportunity to eat as well.

That's my whole point. You can't talk building an economic base and he doesn't give anyone an opportunity to make money with him. No percentages for any of his projects; just a membership to his app or 2 hours of entertainment.

Hidden Colors would be much higher quality if he opened up to investors, because it would increase access to better people to work on the film (because they would have vested interest to make it as good as possible. No more cheap google image inserts every 15 seconds etc). It's decent quality, but when you see The 13th and other Netflix documentaries you can see where it falls short and where he could use some help. But the model works and people go for it, so it's no use in changing it.

he gives advertisers to his podcasts, who have themselves, praised him immensely for that opportunity.

Lets be honest. You don't like Tariq, so even if he's one of the only people producing quality content you'd find a reason to hate.

HC wouldn't be higher quality if he opened it up to investors. He'd lose creative control. And you know that. And he's not using google images. He's using the OG licensed content. He's even said thats what cuts into his budget more than anything.
