Be upset at a "pro-black" Hollywood movie created by a white man, and owned by white executives, grifter brehs. :mjlol:

Has anyone pointed out the irony in King Flex coming to bat for a fictional African man, knowing damn well that if said African was in America, he’d be calling him all sorts racial slurs and telling him to go back to Africa? :patrice:

Yo I've been talking about the media removing black men from leading roles for a while now and this is the end result.

The black female protagonists and non black men are taking place of the black men in leading roles.

There are 3 MCU movies and 3 MCU series either existing or announced that have Black men in leading roles (Black Panther, the new Blade, Captain America: New World Order, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Secret Invasion, and Armor Wars). Plus a Black supervillain movie upcoming with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

This is literally the very first MCU movie or series announced to have a Black woman in a leading role. And it's a ensemble cast - unlike the Black male movies that all have 1 clear star we know, we can't even tell which woman is going to get the most shine in this one.

If Chadwick hadn't died, this would be the 8th Black man-centered MCU movie/series with no Black female movies and the complaints wouldn't be 1/10th as loud.

If the tables were turned, and this movie was full of Black men but all the others had been Black women, TLR would be angry beyond belief. Just admit y'all don't consider women to be part of the Black community and leave it at that.

Regardless the point ain’t that there’s not a black king In the Trailer the point is all before the cast as a whole was both black men and women and now it looks like black women and “minorities”.
It's almost like the movie is going to deal with the aftermath of the king dying and trying to figure out who will lead Wakanda and take the mantle of Black Panther:jbhmm:

Whitaker's character died.

Michael B's character died, rumor is that he'll make an appearance in this one.

Daniel Kaluuya said scheduling conflicts kept him out of the movie.

The three Mexicans in the movie are the bad guys in will likely be defeated/killed/captured at the end of the movie, just like every other Marvel movie.
