duh... i know that... you still have to win the majority of votes to win that state's electoral votes.... *yawn*This is the problem with voters in general, you don't know even know how the process works and want to participate in it
Each state as a certain amount of electoral votes
List of State Electoral Votes
California has the most electoral votes since its a big state and the population.
So lets say the democrats lose the popular vote in california by a small margin, it doesn't matter how close it is the 55 electoral votes go to the Republicans
so at the end of the day the popular vote doesn't matter, you just have to win states that have a lot of electoral votes and you can win the election, this is the basic strategy

Well, me personally, I'm not voting because it isn't any candidate running "worthy" of my vote. Plus, I've spent majority of my life in Alabama and live in Texas now; I know what color my states are going to be. lol. If you aren't in a swing state...........
Plus, real change happens at the local level.![]()
it's only happened twice that a president lost the popular vote and won the electoral college... . voting does matter... i agree with tariq that it needs to be strategic... but using your example, if the republicans won california by 1 vote thus winning the electoral college, the majority of republican voters in california made the difference.. .therefore voting did matter in that instance... however, there is a reason why republicans are not relying on a strategy of barely winning california to win the presidential election.... my point against tariq was not so much whether the electoral college matters or not, it's that the vast majority of the time whoever wins the state's popular vote normally gets the electoral votes.... voting matters!Yes but this isn't a vote on a state official
So the fact you can lose a state by 1 vote and all those votes are nullified towards the totality of electing the leader of a country makes voting pointless

damn, i just noticed your title... i'll end this conversation now and save myself the headache....Jesus christ why don't you actually listen
Every American vote should count
If you lose a state by 1 vote, all the votes you got in that state should tally with the other votes, that is what makes sense and what is fair
I didn't say the republicans were using it as a strategy it was just an EXAMPLE of how pointless voting is and how it can be easily rigged to get whoever you want in
it's a joke, politics in this country is nothing but theater
George Bush stole an election right before the people's eye and no one did anything lol, so if they can't socially engineer it they will just flat out do what they want anway
I never heard of him until the coli and never hear anyone talk about him off of the coli.I never even heard of dude until a few weeks ago.![]()

Typical response when you have none
instead of pointing out something that wasn't true you behave a like a third grader
which is why this country is on the path of decline because this generation can't deal with difficult matters
i did point out something that was true... your title.. that's why i gracefully bowed out the conversation...i did point out something that was true... your title.. that's why i gracefully bowed out the conversation...
