the main reason is that black people are broke, being the poorest among us, and the rising cost of living has made it difficult to do much of anything. the majority of black people have meager finances, so why would you see them out? are they simply going to walk around - pockets full of lint, bank accounts waiting for their next paycheck (if they’re even working, which many of them aren’t) - and stare at those with money indulging in things they can’t afford?

america is increasingly becoming a nation for the wealthy, where only those with money can afford to enjoy themselves. everyone else is dead weight that keeps the service industry running.

I agree with everything apart from this. It has always been a nation for the wealthy, the haves and have nots. It has never been built on equality. It has been based on pure greed and unbridled capitalism.

true, but the working and lower class could still partake of certain activities that are now prohibitively expensive.

going to see a basketball game or baseball game
wasn’t as costly as it is now; nor were movies, or other events. almost everything is priced at a premium. it never used to be like that.

True. You would think with the widening wealth gap, people would start rebelling. But history has shown us that if you give people just enough sustenance to survive, they’ll be pacified enough to not fight back.

We’re the most disenfranchised but we collectively keep on voting for the same solution to stay stagnant. Most of us (not me) are happy with just a pat on the head whilst other groups blast right past us because they demand more than an acknowledgement. :francis:
