Right. I am not understanding @Nero Christ 's point here. Seems like a case of "cant see the forest for the trees". Breh talking about the bikers werent shown to be racist when Freddie's entire scene was devoted to saying that bikers are racist and everyone that buys drugs from them are racist too. Hell the fact that neither of the bikers were like "Nah, we like black ppl" or "we not like the racist dudes" is a subtle way of telling the audience the racist as well, imo. I guess Jay or Per shouldve been like "we gotta go deal with this n***** " Or have them say something racist at the negotiation table? I think they handled it fine.

Yea....the writers want to portray these guys as anti-heroes rather than flat out bad guys, and making them racist makes it harder to write them in a way that makes the audience root for them.

They are not making them anti heros at this point. They are drug dealers and Jay already seen at a bad guy for killing Maeve's dad. We see the bikers beat peaches' father in law and most likely beat his wife. The only one being painted as any kind of anti hero is Robbie and I dont think he was ever with the biker gang(could be mistaken on this fact).

Apple just canceled this show because it was too on the nose. You can see why showrunners would be hesitant, white ppl dont like dealing with white guilt.

It's not cancelled, it's delaying the premiere of it. They will still air it, shyt cost of 9 figures to make(Chastain aint cheap). They just postponing it because it covers extremist shyt/conspiracies/assassinations. Will probably premiere mid october. No different than when these cop shows dont air a school shooting episode near real life shooting dates.

Yea...the lack of racism from these hillbilly whites and the bikers is sticking out like a sore thumb. They don't have to go on some Tarantino-esque diatribe but these are the exact types known for being degenerate racist losers. Also, if you show their racism, it makes Freddie's story hit a lot harder.

These writers now a days always frame racism in a very "on the nose" and archaic sort of way, if they even bother to touch on it at all.

Crazy thing is: a lot of these types you just know they're racist.....but there's this weird understanding. Kinda like " I know you're pro black, you know I'm a racist fukk piece of shyt, but out here on the street is business until it isn't" I think it's a realistic representation of some dynamics.

The task force are the good guys, while Robbie and his crew are less villainous than the bikers, but the show is definitely trying to show all groups as multi-layered.

They're clearly being portrayed as smarter than your average backwoods methhead bikers. I mean, they're still that but the show went out of the way to tell us their more organized and disciplined than the usual bikers.

Breh if a biker gang is successful (and there have been some over the course of history) then they are probably fairly organized. Most bikers are likely dumb ass rednecks but the people at the top know what they are doing.
