Yep, after the 2nd episode I can empirically say that the kidnapped child plotline is retarded as fukk.

I dont think he evaded police to get back in the car. He just hopped back in. I think Maeve works in a random store in a plaza that is very close to the Value Mart that she dropped the boy off at. He probably came back out as soon as she went in, saw her park and hopped in then.

They don't review security footage?

Yes. Hulk or someone on the team said the story only has cameras inside, over the registers. So there would be nothing to help them on the camera.

This. Maeve works next door at the arcade. She picked that spot because she knew the arcade had a phone in the lost and found she could use to call it in. They show them putting the phone in the lost and found earlier in the episode.

That kid isn't dumb and Maeve left the car unlocked. If she was serious she would've rolled to a payphone a mile away and called. She thinks she's smarter than she actually is, like all young adults, and fukked up her own plan. Now she's an accessory to kidnapping.

They also literally told you there are no working cameras outside the location.....and that isn't outside the realm of possibility, considering that place is a shyt hole

Once Mare was successful, the writing team was looking to follow that up, and apparently a bunch of up and coming British talent were perfecting their Delaware County accent waiting for the call up.

It's great. It's pretty much the same detective concept here. Same writer/creator. Small town Pennsylvania. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is a suspect. All sorts of intertwining family drama.
