Like breh said, it's a couple sex scenes in there but it's like power type shyt. Like ep1 dude fresh outta jail fukks some waitress. Cinemax had a couple good series like Banshee, Strike Back(army action type shyt), and The Knick(1900s medical drama).

Im sure it's been brought up already in this thread, but if you like him in this, he good in banshee too. That's also a great series overall, some of the best fight scenes I've ever seen on tv. On top of shyt always happening in the show so it's never really slow or dull. Anthony Star(Homelander) is the star of that show and does his thing too. Dont think Robbie shows up til S3 though.

I’ve watched Banshee. Some years back, but yeah. I liked it then. They had a gay albino vampire looking like dude in prison or some shyt that used to bully the fake sheriff IIRC

But yeah, the guy playing Robbie’s killing this shyt. I can imagine that maintaining that sniffly nose almost teary eye volatile look every day must be exhausting. Dude looks like he’s at a tipping point at all times - he just really sells the fukk-up/impulsive nature of Robbie. Not even ill-spirited, shyt just always goes left - reminds me of hat DMX line - “why is it every move I make turns out to be a bad one?!”

Guy lost his brother, wife, best friend, got Peaches killed and knows he most likely ruined his kids, Sam’s and niece’s lives. That scene after Tom made the vagrant bird analogy - and he said “what’s that thing that you called me? A - a vagrant bird - even if I wanted to go home, I don’t know the way anymore

I was like damn

Watching Pelphrey in this, they severly wasted him in Iron Fist. (which was a waste of a series, don't @ me)

I kinda want to see him on The Bear now, lol. Or at least opposite John Berenthal.

I mean the gist of the story is that there are some small time robbers and a FBI team has been assigned to catch them. To me that's basic. I like it when there are multi layers to the story.

You know who did what, but you don't know WHY...

I totally forgot about the psycho "Mr Smithers" from Banshee :dead:

Only thing they have in common is being set in PA and show runners. There haven't been any direct mentions of Mare at all unless they mentioned the town and I just didn't catch it.
I binged mare of Easttown. Only thing that seems similar is the location/setup of the final scene of this last episode and episode 6 of mare of easttown:jbhmm:. Task is better to me so far

They've mentioned things like towns and precincts that relate but overall the only thing that ties them together is the creator Brad Ingelsby set them both in rural PA and focused on middle class or struggling neighborhoods and people. Brad was born in the area so that's why everything feels pretty authentic.

..... in the first episode when Tom is at the job fair - you can see Easttown PD recruiting in the background.....
