There's a reason so many podcasts with mostly former NBA players generating nice viewership, cause they no longer work for NBA and they can talk trash all day, something that many casual fans enjoy listening to. NBA meanwhile is too friendly with each other.

This. Its not the 80s. Playing well, winning, and (by all accounts) being a good guy aint enough. That would make you a superstar then. Now it makes you boring. Bron kinda went through that during his first Cleveland stint. It took the heel turn in going to MIA to maximize his star power and he aint looked back since. To the point where I lowkey think he intentionally trolls people sometimes just to maintain his status .

Its funny because I think Tatum would actually get more love if he didnt check so many boxes. Like if he was a lesser player or won less or more of an a$$hole he would be a bigger star. People would be more invested. Fans are so full of it
