Tax return season is here

I’d expect that people will start getting returns in mid to late February, assuming they received their W-2 this week. There will be delays but it won’t be bad. There were delays last year and most people got theirs within the typical 21-28 day period.

I used TurboTax and my Fed refund is pending for Wednesday. They had an issue with the state and some form and i couldn't file, so I’ll probably use the free version from my comptrollers office.

Pretty fast too, I think the state refund took a little over a week, federal a little under 2 weeks

Cancelled the CPA, he was a dumbass. TurboTax got us $3100 back and should hit the account in a couple weeks.

Even if I adjusted down to zero we are still getting money back by reducing ur taxable income through multiple property ownership & child tax credits. Next year I’ll probably go with the single rate and use the refund as a piggy bank like most. That $20k we got 2 years ago is the reason we are so close to actually outright owning our rental property.

I always owe on my taxes. I have all the excess money I collected all year in an account ready to pay. so it's an interest free loan for me.

That’s the smart thing to do. Only issue is some of us have spouses who would just spend more money during the year if it came in as part of more take home pay.

With a lump sum check I know for a fact the vacation and home repair money will be in my hands.
