Democrats are just so fukking lame brehs. Poll and survey obsessed squares, and goddamn clueless and inauthentic. All of these content creators they’re pushing are centrist liberal phonies. They saw what Republicans did and thought they could just copy their homework and they’d be good to go. None of these consultants are in tune with the zeitgeist.
The right had Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck on radio which was basically like all these podcast bros. The Democrats never had that that kind of media, they were primed for the podcast scene. All these podcast bros had an authentic following and were tapped into the right wing consciousness, had money and a following of their own, THEN the political funding came. Democrats are dumb fukks and are boosting sauceless shytlibs and centrists who have no clout. Notice that all these “populist” right wing podcast bros and even the radio talk show hosts were FAR more right leaning than mainstream Republicans until they caught up and now they’re in sync. They leaned into their base even further, they didn’t neuter their message in hopes of getting the Baileys to vote for them.
The truth is, this would only work if they were boosting already popular left wing podcasts and influencers. The problem with that is
1. There aren’t really that many with huge followings
2. Leftists constantly advocate for getting money out of politics so good luck trying to get them to take money with a bunch of strings attached. No big donor is going to donate to their own demise.
The corporate/establishment Democrats have no way out of this with money, which is ironic considering they’re in the position in the first place because they never wanted to upset their donors. They can’t play the Republicans game but with blue paint on it. They threw a billion at Kamala and she lost to Donald fukking Trump, and Trump had a fraction of that. This top down approach to politics is outdated. They could shove millions in the pockets of these centrists and nothing will change. Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line.
