Tbh Compton never really seemed like a bad neighborhood to me.

Really? I didn’t know that. I’m not too familiar with Cali honestly.

Lol then how you making assumptions and opinions about our hood my G? You seem chill tho so no plex/hate

They get made every other month

Twice a month

The Cali hate on this website is obsessive lmao...

Up there with NYC fasho smh

All regional hate shyt is annoying as fucc

Can we also kill the myth that only California has nice looking hoods as well?

It's hoods in Texas and other places that look just as nice, just without palm trees

Big fuccin facts

Black Panthers didn't start in the south nicca. They started on 57th street in North Oakland. Have you ever read Revolutionary Suicide? That house belonged to Bobby Seales parents. Them dudes is from the south but the BPP STARTED In OAKLAND......

The BPP was started in Alabama, that's where those southern boys who migrated to the west got the idea and the logo from.

The (unincorporated) Decatur of today is actually somewhat dangerous, but HOOD in the 90s??? I left Atlanta in 1993 and back then Decatur was a SOLIDLY middle class suburb and of moderate crime outside of a pocket or two. Decatur didn't become high crime until gentrification kicked off. Techwood, East Lake, Pittsburgh, Lakewood, Boulevard, Summerhill, English Avenue in the actual city limits, were easily some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the country back then. Pittsburgh, Lakewood, and English Avenue are likely STILL among those. Similar stories for much of Northwest, Southwest, and Southeast Atlanta. It's funny you (in typical transplant fashion) conflate Decatur with actual hoods within the city limits. It'd be like saying you visited a DC hood and mentioning Suitland or Capitol Heights, Maryland as your examples.

But if you're home is worth 300k how are you pretending to be broke

you could sell your place in compton and 300k is enough to afford 3 places and 12 bedrooms to rent out

at 600$ a room you are making 7,200 a month ... thats 86,000 a year

thats 259,300 in three years... so basically in 4 years you can own 4 houses all paid off and rented

live back in Compton and still earn 7,200 a month from the income off of the initial price of what you started with.

thats way too much value to live like that

If your home is worth 300k but you owe 270k on after the costs associated with selling a home have nothing.

And let’s assume everyone’s house is free and clear, your job is in the LA area, the pension you’ve been investing your life into. Where are you moving after you sell your home that you can become a real estate tyc00n with 300k

as a real estate lending professional I’m missing parts of your strategy

if you were selling your home in Cali why would you stay in cali where the housing is the same price? you would obviously move out of state to get the cheaper housing?
are you from cali? How come when I look up houses in Compton they are 250-300k but when I look up Pasadena its the same price? real question. I live in Rochester Ny and you can easily get a 4 bedroom home for
90-110k in the suburbs. My house is completely paid off and I have 3 bedrooms I rent out. If you have 300k worth of property here couldnt you just save up that amount and move back into the Compton neighborhood? While still owning the houses you bought initially?

Like technically the money I'm making off rent, I could live rent free in Compton right now

I'm trying to learn and understand more so hit me with the facts. Seems like if you owned a completely paid off house for 300k you could easily be flipping that dough rather than just chilling with it.
surely your home in Compton would be a generational inheritance, paying a mortgage to live in Compton seems like the worst idea of all time... especially when a house in Pasadena goes for the same price. Mortgaging fresh in 2019 into a compton neighborhood seems like working at a gas station and buying a Lambo... it would be hustling backwards.

Though there was a rough pocket or two back then-- there's a reason that video was filmed in Edgewood (where I'm originally from) and not Decatur.

Google those street signs if you're unfamiliar. :sas2:
I gotta peep the video again lol but i can’t speak on the 90s anyways

I grew up in the DEC in the mid 00s on Candler Road :manny: that shyt right by East Lake/ATL so it ain’t like its Gwinnett County lol

Candler, Glenwood, Flat Shoals, Gresham, Columbia Drive, Memorial well represented :myman:

Compton was never really the worst place in Cali to me

East Palo Alto, Richmond and East Oakland were probably the most dangerous neighborhood/cities in Cali back in the days
