At the time I knew Peter Gunz had a kid and he rapped, but knew very little about him and hadn't heard him spit. Then that track dropped (one of Wayne's last records), and he signed with Young Money, and then even had some MTV TV show too following him around. I thought Gunna had next, I really did. What happened

People tend to question whether YMCMB pushes its acts not named Wayne, Drake, Nikki...etc. this is a perfect example of them doing so and the artist cannot capitalize.

Cash Money Records = the glorified bench of the rap industry.
Aside from their starters... you finna have splinters up your ass from how much bench you're gonna be sittin on.

They're not gonna gamble on these artists when they know they can just have a damn near platinum release every quarter. They sign them to bench them so they can't interfere with their movements (if by chance said rapper becomes super hot).

Pretty good tactic if you ask me... if I was Cory I would've never signed to Cash Money... but I guess when you see all that cash money...
