Um no..Peter gunz holds no status in hip hop. A dope single does not make one a legendary artist. His cm association got him that show. The sales pitch to mtv is quite easy to see. His team at the time deserves credit for convincing mtv this guy was an upcoming train they needed to get in front of. And it is quite possible they were pitched a similar show starring drake and turned it down. (yikes) Timing is everything..

He's a rapper and NOT an artist. He won't be able to write songs, with hooks etc. That's why a lot of mixtape rappers stay mixtape rappers. It's hard to make that jump. 50 was a masterclass with writing hooks/songs. The Game is the exception, almost every song he has out has a feature with someone the hook. But he had the backings of Dre, Em and they had 50 writing his hooks early on.
