Ain’t nobody checking for breh music
He just rap fast and has a dangling earring
Oh trust me I think he's terrible and a horrible signing. I'm just saying what label in the world operates like this. You sign a guy, have him do freestyles, release an EP, then release like 8 singles that nobody gives a fukk about instead of just throwing out an actual album to build off. It makes no sense.

Also...TDE seems completely separated from LA now. Yea they got studios all in the city and operate from there but why aren't they signing LA artists? Reason was the last one, and that has basically been ehh with him not getting the releases/support he needs. They can't roll out a new LA artist who actually has some edge to him, like Q or Jay Rock?

Throwing out multiple singles seems like a better strategy than just throwing out a whole body of work that nobody would care about. TDE makes goofy moves but I don’t think that’s one of them

I get he wanted to build a label, but his original roster of Kendrick, Rock, Q, Soul, Zay & Sza was pure gold, why try to branch out and spread the Roster/Resources Thin when you already have a roster like that?….Sir, Zacari, Reason, Lance Skiiwalker, Ray Vauhn? Who cares

When he just had these 6 members taking it in turns the quality output was nuts, everybody got to shine, I mean..look at this shyt

Kendrick Lamar Ep
Long Term 2
Setbacks
Long Term Mentality
Section 80.
Follow Me Home
Habits & Contradictions
Control System
Good Kid MaaD City
Oxymoron
Cilvia Demo
To Pimp a Butterfly
90059
Blank Face LP

Only album during this time period that I didn’t include was Souls “These Days”..up to that point that was literally the only TDE album that was Average

Imachine in that time if we had a Black Hippy And Sza/Zay Collab Album too

How dare you lump SiR in with the rest of those acts.

SiR deserves his spot...the rest, i agree. zacari is a dude you throw on a hook, not a guy you give an album to

Reason is the next star to emerge from TDE.

Longevity only happens with patience. Nobody liked what Punch had to say but everyone will stream a new TDE release. Until that stops, they'll be just fine and this thread will get upped in another 4 years.

Soulo doubling back...

Soulo doubling back...

Last time a TDE artist said they were doubling back (after an album that bombed) it was Q, and we haven't heard from him since then. Ab not dropping for at least two years, at which point whatever "slap" he has will be rotting on a hard drive somewhere, never to be heard again. That's the problem with waiting years to drop music. Obviously there were other factors with Ab but even in his case they didn't even let him drop loosies outside of like one track in the last 5-6 years. Almost no features. Radio silence. That shyt is killing their momentum...

Jay Rock and Q can't do tracks with Mozzy or YG or Westside Gunn or any host of dudes over the last 3+ years who were dropping shyt and fit their lane? These dudes disappear, they come back, bomb, and we don't see them for years again. It's only working for Kendrick and SZA...
