where are these teachers working that make 80k+ a year? i was working at a school in SF and i can tell you their starting pay for teachers is 45k in san francisco! the most expensive city in america paying teachers 45k. even the veteran teachers who were there for 10+ years were around 80k. there's some fake news in here.

Trust just google. I am not going to post the links cause I don't want to put folks business out on front street. But a lot of states post online all educators salaries who work for public schools including colleges.

You can even find your favorite public university football coach salary online including professors at the university they coach at....because they are all state employees.

Finally the terms of pay for a teacher is based on the state you are in and how powerful your union is. So for example public school teachers in Chicago make more than public school teacher in NY. (Even though NY is a bigger city and costs more) because the Chicago school union is more powerful and is one of the most powerful unions in america.

Another thing folks don't take into account is unlike other jobs that will fukk over your pay when it comes to extra degrees. Many public school districts and teacher unions have mandatory slotted pay scales based on if you have a BS, MS, PHD.
