Even if you add JJJ, the list of bigs and potential leaders on this list doesn't inspire much confidence.
The 28 roster will be fine. We have enough young talent in the pipeline to be more than fine. Maybe you worry about interior defense a bit but Chet should be a top 3 defender in the world by then.

Team USA will be heavy favs as usual. Bancheros game fits FIBA play very well. Perhaps they focus a bit more on team building than a roster of all stars but they should take gold in 2028 barring something unforeseen

Neither of these squads leave me with any great hope. The lack of bigs could potentially be a major issue.
At the end of the day, only TWO things are going to matter -
1. Continuity - they have to cultivate a squad long before the summer of 2028. They've got to get players to committ to playing together the year before. They can't just count on coming together for a few exhibition games before the Olympics and thinking shyt will click. This is going to be a major obstacle given players won't want to commit to meaningless games a whole year prior, especially during the offseason.
2. They need someone to step up and replace KD's role. Ant seems like the logical choice, at least at this stage, but there's a lot of time between now and then for him to eliminate himself from being a contender for that role.

Keep in mind, this is the same board that shyts on those players, so it does look funny when they suddenly now have this faith in them getting the job done. I can just imagine the type of discourse that will be had next postseason if Ant fails to meet expectations that folks have of him.
They did mention that they do believe they’ll take AD or Bam to kind of deal with Jokic. Also mentioned Lively as a potential guy.
I’d like us to get more serious about our World Cup team this time around. Darryn, Cooper, AJ, CamBooz and other elite young talent need to play on that squad. You can’t skip it and then be called up to the main squad.
