Greece
Serbia
Slovania
None of those teams producing any new talent
Canada only one that can challenge the us
France is wemby and French piano players on the bench
We were down double digits in the 3rd quarter to Serbia until Curry, Embiid, and Bron bailed us out. 3 guys who won't be available in 3 years.
What bigs do we have to counter Giannis, Jokic, and Wemby? I see a lot of American bravado but no projections on what our squad will look like.

There’s only one country that has consistently produced talent and dominated at the Olympics yet it’s the country yall doubt the most![]()
It shouldn’t be rocket science about how to run a USA team and how to construct itAs long as they don't try to play like the Ham era Lakers they'll be fine. You got the best athletes on the floor, get physical on D and let em run
We played 3 games against Serbia last summer, blew them out twice then walked down a double digit 4th quarter lead that they built through unsustainable 3 pt shooting
That’s the thing with the U.S. Our talent pool is too deep to try to lock in a roster 3 years from now

No clicks
We went over the potential roster in the Olympic thread. Canada the only threat. And that'd likely be in the Gold Medal game

I'm just asking, what will our squad look like and how are we handling foreign bigs?
I didn't think this was an issue before because in past Olympics we had the cream of the crop: Kobe, LeBron, Duncan, etc. But the best players in the world aren't American anymore, and most of the guys that saved us in Paris won't be around in LA.
I'm not saying we'll lose. I'm saying it's a bigger concern than ever before. I don't trust Tatum or Brunson to lead us.
THE BEST PLAYERS

The guys who “saved” us in 2024 weren’t there in 2021 or 2016 either sans KD
I can’t say for sure who will be on the 2028 team, there’s some contenders but it’s still too early to lock anyone in for the most part. The point to me is if any country has earned the benefit of the doubt it’s the one who’s been winning gold for the last 30+ years
We’re rushing to dismiss the proven winner in order to crown countries that have never won anything
No one is dismissing anything. We're just projecting what the roster will look like, and no one is willing to put an idea what the squad will be. That's concerning, even if it's 3 years away.
