Actually the Nets have made a pitch for the Islanders to play in Brooklyn. The only problem is that the arena was built solely for basketball without hockey in mind. Apparently this means that you'd have some obstructed view seats in it during hockey games. Also NHL commissioner Gary Bettman complained that the commute to Brooklyn to see the Islanders would be difficult for existing Islander fans. Personally, I think the commute to Kansas City or Quebec would be even worse!
So, anyway, its possible they move to Brooklyn. I think the owner's preference is to get a new arena in Long Island or maybe even Queens, but Brooklyn doesn't seem to be out of the question.
really?
i was just reading that prokohov a russian who loves hockey says the barclay center can accommodate hockey
existing islander fans?
