I don't think the law should prevent people from voluntarily working for any wage...
Foolishness. If that were allowed it wouldn't be long before many other employers take suit and folks clamping for Any money at all will accept the shytty wage ..but they won't be able to afford to live. Who will continue to pick up that slack? The tax payers

Link to any hard evidence supporting this? :ld:

The overwhelming majority of employers(over 95% i believe) dont pay the lowest possible wage now in what is clearly an employers market...

Electronics for Imaging paid several employees from India as little as $1.21 an hour to help install computer systems at the company's Fremont headquarters, federal labor officials said Wednesday. "We are not going to tolerate this kind of behavior from employers," said Susana Blanco, district director of the U.S. Labor Department's wage and hour division in San Francisco.... An anonymous tip prompted the U.S. Department of Labor to investigate the case, which resulted in more than $40,000 in back wages paid to the eight employees and a fine of $3,500 for Electronics for Imaging.

Seriously?
These Indians need to 'up' their lawyer game. Back wages plus "punitive" damages is the way to go.
