Black people in this country have always been treated worse than immigrants. So people who are quick claim the treatment was the same tend to be immigrants.
:yeshrug:

I don't disagree.

Just pointing out that similar hysteria and arguments were used (often alongside physical violence) whenever we tried to integrate labor unions and gain access to meaningful employment opportunities.

:whoa: All of that is not to say that I don't believe in borders (I do) or that I don't believe in a labor policy that prioritizes American labor first.

The main difference is Corporations can utilize the Federal Government to enable labor arbitrage. Before that had to do it on their own. Now the Government directly subsidies the practice.

Kicking it with my boy today. Actively had hiring managers reach out to him directly.

- 2 large gaming companies (Think Sony, Activision/Blizzard, Roblox, Riot Games, Take Two, etc.)
- A large movie studios (Think Warner Brothers, Paramount, etc.)
- 2 FAANG (or whatever)

All paying over 2, plus equity, plus bonus.

Might be time to start making moves. Companies are definitely aggressively looking to hire talent.

BTW, much to my dismay, this dude over here taking apart his "project bike" instead of studying or prepping for interviews.

I'm starting not to like dude. He's about to get like 5 offers after bullshytting around, smashing women, and traveling all over the world for almost a year and not even studying for interviews.

At the end of a call today, the hiring manager was ecstatic, like, "this was really an amazing conversation, I had a great time!" :comeon:

I'm not a hater but F this dude :russ:

For people in the Network Engineering space, here is a quick rundown of how to break into FAANG roles which are basically hybrid software/network engineering roles. If you can build BOTH skills, you will be unstoppable out here. You can bridge into software engineering or move into building massive hyper-scale datacenters around the world.

Pay close attention to the notes of being able to articulate every design decision.

Job Opportunity
If anyone is in the Security Engineering or Cybersecurity space, a good friend is hiring for a Sr. Security Engineer (IC6) role at Meta. If you're serious in the space and have talent/skill, send me a message and I'll reach out and potentially refer you. Security Engineering is not my remit but I know enough to sort through lames.

Don't BS me.

I want to leave my current job :mjlol: thought I was going to escape this insane work lifestyle and only for it to be just as bad. I am playing Vciso for 20 plus companies, being pulled in 20 different directions, making sure all controls are in place etc. I am literally over it already :mjcry:. I just want to work for one company and run a tight security ship.

Zero Companies Admit AI-Driven Layoffs Under NY Law After Year

162 companies filed WARN notices affecting 28,300 workers since March 2025—none cited AI or automation as the cause, according to New York's Department of Labor

Amazon cut 660 NY jobs and Goldman Sachs shed 4,100 roles, both after linking internal layoffs to AI gains, yet marked 'economic' reasons on state filings

Nearly 55,000 US companies attributed job cuts to AI in 2025 per Challenger, Gray & Christmas, exposing a compliance gap

New legislation could mandate annual AI impact reporting and tie noncompliance to loss of state tax breaks

Quick Updates:

- My boy got up-leveled for a FAANG interview.
- My boy also has NVIDIA reaching out.

Everyone seems real aggressive about hiring right now. Get on it.
