Is there anyone in here in tech on the hardware engineering and/or program/product management side?

If I can't get in via the MS/DS I'm hoping to leverage my Eng. Education. Seems they don't hire nearly
as many Hardware guys as they do software guys tho.

Well there are plenty of jobs here. Probably going to apply for quite a few government jobs since once you're in, you're in.

In MoCo, the whole county caters to bio tech heavy.
Not many fully remote gigs up there who will sponsor a security clearance. I prefer the cheaper cost of living and less traffic in the South.

I had a promising interview a few months ago until I got ghosted. But will keep looking.

Almost everyone I know is being forced back onsite including myself. I'm trying to fight it by switching jobs again.
:francis:
Im getting to the career stage where I can just chill and eat off merit increases, but over the next 5 years I`m working towards getting some international property, starting businesses, and eliminating consumer debt. I can't be in this rat race forever shyt is a cancer. So if I do have to RTO it would be me taking on a leadership role in a different country at least

Yeah no. But I worked from home years ago before it was popular and hated it. So I don't really look for remote work.

One of the jobs I applied for is only in the office 3 days a week. That's enough for me. As long as they aren't on some Booz Allen Hamliton shyt where they force you to socialize outside of work, it's fine.

DC is a heavy happy hour city so people are in the office. I don’t think I know anyone doing remote work honestly.

Brehs…I don’t like to stereotype, and I’ve worked with quite a few Indians who are good, but some of these offshore folks man :snoop:

Many of them seem to either be sandbagging or refuse to think critically about what they’re doing. You really do get what you pay for

I don't think it's a refusal so much as just an inability to perform critical thinking. For the overwhelming majority it looks like they never learned the skills. All they have going is rote memorization, ability to follow a document exactly, and nepotism. The ones that break out of that hole tend to be very good, but they're few and far between.

I was trying to be nice about it :pachaha:

But you may be right, they have a culture of just pushing people through whether they’re qualified or not

They want us back in the office so bad. Looking for jobs now they'll try to knock your salary range down if you're remote, or from the "wrong" state.

I don't intend on going back, but worse case scenario just need to hold out until my kids are in school.
