Tech Industry job layoffs looking scary

That’s how I am….

I keep my ear to the ground, but everything looks like a lateral move in this economy. Even if I can make 15-20k more.

I need like a 30+% increase to justify any type of movement, especially when I’m sitted in a “good” situation.

Most days, I start at 9am and I’m done by 1, 2pm, unless my intellectual curiosity takes me somewhere…..

This….. I really just want job securit.

i would take a 15-20% increase if it’s at a stable healthy company that’s possibly still growing

Over a company that’s can give me a good bag but 8months to a year from now when Trump does something else STUPID, the company takes a hit & the gotta start releasing folks

One or maybe coworkers thar got released. She literally started on my former team like a barely a year ago (as I was moving off to my current team).

I help train her and mentor her a little in last few days so it sucked to hear she got let go!

And not saying I ever wanna see folks fired but they keep this toxic ass chick on the team that low key I was having major issues with & even after I left heard was a monster…. Smh

Nah a fortune 500 company. The only reason i didnt get sacked with the rest is because i was embedded in a team from day 1.

Mix of ghost jobs + jobs where they already filled with Internal/H1B slotted to fill and just interviewing as a formality

That's my situation right now, I work 70 hours a week consistently. It's even worse when I travel for work which I do a lot. Management is trying to give me a counteroffer because I am one of their top performers but after two years, I am fkn drained. Everyone is complaining at my job about being overworked.

I took one week vacation because a client cancelled a project, I slept all day for those days.

New job is even emphasizing personal time matters in their job offer.

What's scaring me is the job market, I am leaving a job where I know I am in demand for a job that might lay me off in six month if shyt goes south. but being overworked carries health issues
