yep, it's a soft layoff tactcParamount announced RTO, 5 days a week starts in January. Employees can get a severance if they decide to leave, but they have to make the decision by the 15th.
Their trying to get people to quit. Next will be layoffs if nobody takes the bait.
Oh I’m not surprised.
There are no official statistics available for job gains specifically for white men in 2025, as official data for the entire year is not yet published. However, monthly reports from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show that in June 2025, the unemployment rate for White individuals was 3.6%, a slight decrease from August 2024's 3.8%. This suggests a positive trend, but without the full year's data, it's impossible to provide a specific number of jobs gained for white men

Tech hiring will probably pickup after the 30-60 day comment period for new H-1B wage rules. Give or take a month or two depending on H-1B renewals. There was a huge uptick in hiring due to H-1B denials increasing in 2017-2018.This is anecdotal, but I've been getting an uptick in calls and emails about jobs, granted they're mostly Indian "consulting" companies. The Fed is likely going to cut rates again starting next week as well, so perhaps companies may post real jobs soon.

They still trying to blame AI for job losses? Who the hell was thinking about ChatGPT back in 2022?
Or does that year coincide with Elon laying off 80% of Twitter staff? And using a ton of outsourced labor.
