Ironically I was using Chat GPT to do some research and it was suggesting we are exiting the worst part of the Tech "bust" and we should be in the new normal come mid 2027 (I think things normalize, whatever normal will be after the 2028 election results).

Id start putting out apps while employed. Even if its just getting back in the groove of interviewing as you have to shake that rust off depending how long its been.

For now, I can't. Its possible this PE firm is going to try reselling us, and if that's the case, I'll have leverage. This is what I've heard, at least, about other resales in the financial space

I don't think I have a non compete, but I wouldn't go back into a finance gig, but I don't want to add to an already stressful workload at the moment. I'll see if there's going to be a resale, because this isn't a situation many people wind up in.

During a resale, once they decide on the core employees for the company, they need to incentivize them to stay so they can resell the company to another buyer. So we'll see. I'm pretty relaxed either way, lol

Dude actually started prepping for real, he must be taking one of these roles seriously.

I helped him put together a quick lab. The lab is bigger than this, but took this while putting together a few computers.

He brought out the cork board and a bunch of old notebooks and DSA material.

I'm starting to realize I might have been a bit off in this thread. I've always thought that if this guy can do what he does, anyone else can.

After reading a few posts, and just looking through his belongings and talking to him I'm realizing that's probably not true. Most people simply are not as smart or erudite. They have no sense of taste or sense of culture.

I don't know, it was a weird kind of thing. Seeing how he thinks.

Tech unemployment will double before all this debt gets paid off. People nearing the end of their tech careers will be fine. But anyone just starting out in their career will be SOL.
