looks like iphone 4 has been put to rest :rip: this is a list of ios 8 compatible devices:

iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPod touch 5th generation, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad mini with Retina display.

the ipad 2 tho  i dont know why but this still being supported or even mentioned annoys me. just put it down already.

i dont like that it's still being sold for i think 400$ with a below 720p screen and a 3 or 4 year old processor. i know schools and businesses still use it since they get a discount on them when they buy in bulk, but i dont care about the money or the sales numbers. from a consumer and tech fan aspect, i just think it's kinda bs. but if it runs fine and a lot of ppl use it then i'm all for still supporting it with updates.

iPad 2 is like $300 and is being phased out by retailers. Most them sale the iPad 4 for $400 now.

yeah, I don't give a fuk about the rest of that shyt either. I just want updates for my device that can still handle the bulk of what theyre throwing out there. plus I gotta make use of all those leftover 30-pin 10-foot cords at the crib.

:ohhh:interesting.

So can someone breakdown the actual improvements here?

with OS Yosemite you got:

a new look that's similar to ios
notification center can now have widgets, apps and lets you see your calendar events
new looking safari and functionality: now has a bird's eye view of all open tabs and you can scroll through multiple tabs that extend out of view
spotlight got a makeover and now appears in the middle of the screen
icloud drive

ios 8:

can respond and interact with apps in notification center
messages now have audio and video chat
healthkit to monitor your health and fitness
a new photo apps
homekit which turns your phone into a remote for your smart house
can install third party keyboards:wink:

the biggest thing is the integration and continuity between devices imo:

airdrop between ios and mac
handoff sync between devices will let you start something on your ipad and finish it on your mac or iphone
sms and phone calls on all devices
proximity alert will let your devices pick each other up when close to each other
and instant hotspot

they can change there keyboards

Really though Cook shat on Android something fierce.

He's right Android is a clusterfukk with a broken business model. As they keep releasing new versions more and more people get left out because OEMs put stuff like Sense and Touchwiz over it then the carriers have to modify it to their version of the phone and the OEMs and carriers don't really wanna update everyone's phones anyway so many phones get one or so updates and then no more and sit there with unpatched vulnerabilities that are actually fixed in the latest version of Android they'll never get.

Of course Apple doesn't have that problem because they control both the hardware and software so anybody can get the latest version of iOS unless their hardware is way too outdated to even have these days.
