You can give me all the mumbo jumbo about intricate lyrics and Lupe and all that ish. But jay straddles the line like no other. You can't name a person who has intricate content like that while also being a superstar outside of maybe drake (sometimes). He doesn't rap crazy technical for the sake of being technical how other nikkas do as a gimmick

Jay was never that type of lyricist like G Rap or Nas he was different. his sharpness and wittiness was his calling card. he was a slick rhymer in his prime and overall one of the best to ever do it. some of these comparisons I dont think you can say someone is better or worse, just different. like Pac isnt one of my top lyricists but his style, voice, and lyrics just had so much conviction. Pun was cool, I remember when Fat Joe first introduced him, a couple of years before he even appeared on record. He always has been overrated to me because he was a G Rap clone. Jay was a great technical rapper its just that it was at different periods....mostly the very middle/peak years of his career.
