I haven't kept up

But I'll be honest, somewhere in the mid 2000's, r&b and hip hop lost me. shyt just got too watered in my opinion

Neyo only has one song I like; this joint. This is a classic in my opinion

:gucci: come on breh they had some quality mixed in there. It was the beginning of a decline but high points for sure :ld:

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure NeYo has a certified classic but breh had a gang of hits and solid songs imo

Teddy was part of some of MJ's biggest hits but were those hit songs bigger than the hit songs years before Teddy Riley was producing for him?

:mjgrin:You forgot how Jam and Remember The Time (2 of more than a few videos) had everyone tuned in primetime on Fox to watch the debut video? Let's not disrespect the Dangerous album now talking about hits.

Yeah, Teddy has hit songs that hit harder than Face's hit songs.

Babyface's joints don't really bump like Teddy's joints do

But like I said, Face's bread and butter is ballads whereas as Teddy has hit records always had more bounce to them.

Not my fav song on that album tho to be honest. Babyface has the more significant music on that album imo.

Although up there its not my choice as the best track/personal fav on the album but my prerogitive, that's the one that's going to get everyone involved no matter the race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, or religion :russ:

I guess I was spoiled growing in the 90's when groups like Jodeci, Intro, Silk, Portrait, and many others were just dropping classics

I liked some r&b music in the early 2000's and there was even some in the mid 2000's but it was few and far between IMO

I like great songwriting; well written lyrics with great production and a lot of the songwriting and production started becoming real lackluster in the mid 2000's

And Hip Hop really took over R&B. To the point it made R&B hip hop in way.

True, yeah it's basically over then :francis:

See, the thing is, Babyface really doesn't have any like dancing uptempo joints, not like Teddy at all.

Bruh, I was in Waffle House bout 4 years ago, right.

Man, it was late one night.

They started playing Make It Last Forever, had the whole place singing and having a good time :ohlawd:
