Did Teddy drop Remember the Time?

he did, but it was after the battle had ended, it was more or less the last song he dropped before the stream ended.

Did Babyface even get into the Waiting To Exhale Soundtrack???

:dead:

yeah, count on me but it was after the battle

Trey Songz and Usher would be a good battle, Usher wins IMO, but Trey has enough to keep up. I thought Usher would dog him when I first thought about this, but after looking at Trey's catalog I think he has enough hits to make it entertaining.

Trey's music fell off after Trigga but he's had a dope run prior to that.

Usher peaked with Confessions, and he's had big songs after that album, but pretty much all of his albums after Confessions are either mediocre or just good, nothing is great (Here I Stand? Maybe...)

Between these artists who would match up the best?

Usher
Chris Brown
Trey Songz
Miguel

:jbhmm:
Trey barely got enough known songs to do 30-45 min sets at Drai’s :francis: dude basically stretches that song with Nicki Minaj as long as he can to fill up as much time as possible:francis: usher got hits in 3 different decades :francis:

people always bring up confessions, but forget he had platinum albums before that :francis:

without googling, im not even positive Trey Songz has a platinum album :francis:

you smoking dope with this one man :francis:

Beyoncé can’t handle Mariah at all. You done lost your mind lol.
Mariah has more #1 hits than beyonce has top 10 hits :bryan:

i dont know why people cant say beyonce is great, one of the greatest of her era, but she aint never been top dog in her lane, ever. So the whole beyhive stanning is just.. weird to me. From outside looking in its basically a cult

Babyface went easy on Teddy. :unimpressed:
It has nothing to do with giving him his due. He has had success as a producer and some great career moments but he is not on the level of Babyface. Laface was one of the biggest record companies in the world for an an entire decade, New Jack Swing was only popular for 4 years! You can talk about Dangerous and Don’t Be Cruel(the best songs on that album are from Babyface) all day, Babyface is still superior.

babyface is more commercially crossover successful but laface themselves will tell you that culturally, theyre not on par with a teddy riley and theyre on record saying that they werent on par with uptown records.

theres way more to teddy riley before & after new jack swing, which by the way, was hot for closer to a decade rather than 4 years.

lol @ dangerous. that album was carried by teddy and is nowhere near his best produced albums.

Those songs I consider more outside of the "white" listeners who make up top 40. Shyt like "SOS" or "We Found Love" by Rihanna or Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" are not really "hood" songs.

yep

elephant in the room: the same could be said about mariah carey, particularly the 1st half of her career.

I get that and I’m saying for us women who grew up on them, we don’t care. Rihanna being a black woman in her position trumped whatever type of music she made, I can say most woman I know see her as ours just as much as Beyoncé even with their different sounds

but when it comes time to pick sides......:comeon:

These haven’t been pop battles which is the refreshing part, I wouldn’t want Rihanna vs Beyoncé for that reason people deviating what it’s actually about, a lot of the songs Babyface and Teddy Riley played yesterday were not too 10 hits on the Bilboard and still resonated with the crowd, it’s a cultural thing I don’t want it turn into a pop fiasco cause quite frankly, the mother of my child ain’t going to be playing no Rihanna songs in front of my kids, like my mother used to play Anita Baker Toni Braxton Karyn White Sade and etc, the music lacks soul and that’s the thing I’ve loved about these battles with RZA vs Premo Babyface vs Teddy Riley and etc keep it that way, we don’t need a battle full of ‘white songs’ like Babyface would say.

A name that nobody has been mentioning for these battles is Ne-Yo. He'd be a problem in one of these.

Babyface could have still dropped:

Boyz II Men - End of the Road
Boyz II Men - I'll Make love to you
Boyz II Men - Water Runs Dry
Bobby Brown - Roni
Bobby Brown - Humpin Around
Bobby Brown - Don't Be cruel
Mariah Carey - We belong together

Teddy let all his heaters off in the first half, he had nothing left besides MJ in the last half
