I think that she was mildly affiliated with VSLC. She grew up in their hoodand befriended and went to school with people who were tied to their set. I seriously doubt she was an active gang member.

I read an interview with her some years back where she was saying that she was always drawn to and loved the N.O. She was surprised to find out that she had ties there. She thought he peoples were from Texas, but that was where the moved to from N.O. Her grandparents were even married in St. Louis cathedral. With a last name like Brockert it makes sense that she had Louisiana ties.
