Hip Hop fans are trash, that's why.

You think white boys today are going back and actually listening to The Beatles and whatever other older shyt?

This whole hip hop fans suck narrative needs to stop..

nikkas acting like the average 20 year old rock fan is going to see the Eagles when they come to town..

But anyway I'm surprised he hasn't done Hov yet.. I heard him say he don't fukk with Jay like that and think he's overrated. Living down south I can tell you that is a popular sentiment..

He should listen to Where I'm From or 22 Two's

I saw him say that about Jay.I feel the same way about Jay's catalog post Reasonable Doubt.

Jay was a monster during that time, but I can't really fukk with his music beyond that point.

I tried listening to the Blueprint...Black Album...etc..etc...etc..

I don't think it's garbage, but none of it was ever mind blowing IMO.

RD had me:wow:listening to it

This thread got me to sub the the channel. I enjoy seeing the reactions because I had similar faces when I heard some of those lines back then. I like to hear his perspective on the music. I recommended some CNN (Bloody Money), I'm sure he will be like wtf is Capone & Nore talking about with some of the lines if he listens to it.

yes...yes they are :francis:

Hip Hop is the only genre where folks take pride in not knowing shyt.

Agree to disagree bro

Music is a generational thing

The internet has made doing research easier but it's not often that fans are seriously going back and diving through catalogs. They're not listening to their "dad's rock."

You can tell he's not really feelin this song like that, and I totally agree. I've always said "On The Run" is Kool G Rap's masterpiece. I love the throwbacks but I don't want to see flabbys in the comment section hyping up dated tracks that didn't stand the test of time. Frauds like to think that because they were around in that era and being sheep that somehow they know hip hop better. When in fact, a kid today has the potential to understand hip hop on a level deeper than most pretenders who were in that era. For the simple fact that the great stuff stands the fukk out. An OG once said "you'll know better what has lasted than I would."

Great to see these kids liking old school hip hop.

Looks like Pac, Nas and Bone Thugs the top 3 so far... looking at these reaction vids

Yes they do that's why a cac vulture like Post Malone can tell a publication he listens to Bob Dylan when he wants to hear "something real" as opposed to Rap.

Read between the lines of what's not being said. How many young Nikkaz even go back to Rakim? Bob Dylan old as fukk :dead:

The younger generation of rock fans and musicians don't constantly go out of their way to shyt on older acts the way rap fans and artist' do tho..Rappers get dissed for being too lyrical by a sect of rap fans....

In fact in most other genres.. the younger generation of artist pay homage to older eras and influences thru their music.. u have bands who's whole sound is dedicated to specific eras of said genre...

I'm just speaking about the average fan. There's going to be outliers but the average person isn't going back.. Ask the white boys that you work with..

Think about how young Hip Hop is.. Most rappers from the 80s weren't huge artists so while they were pioneers, they didn't have that nationwide reach to get to the parents of the next generation..

And to make a comparison, Krit pays homage to UGK and OutKast with his music. J Cole with Nas and so on..

I don't agree with any of this but regardless....no other genre is obsessed with being young like rap is. You got rappers in their 30's and 40's calling themselves Young and Lil and/or dressing like they're 18....you got grown ass men on this board, pushing 30 if not 30+ calling other people the same age "old head" and "sick and flabby". Same dudes running around using whatever new slang pops up because they have no identity as an adult.

All of this contributes to the types of things people are mentioning to you.

Fred.
