And it's not even close

Would run home from school and play this constantly, and on weekends. Was close to undefeated in this game, no one could even get close to me at times when fighting with my favorite characters

Intro still gives me goosebumps :whew: :wow:

Great game. But if I may be so bold and offer a little pushback, this is my contender for GOAT video game:

I LOVE this game, and can't find anyone who gave it a real chance and gave it a bad review, and I mean from reading years and years of online reviews about it.

It was also pretty fukking innovative for it's time the way it wove shooters, action, adventure, and rpg elements together to create something spectactular.

If you've never played it, do so. If you have before and can play it now, do so. You won't be disappointed.

Also honorable mention to Gunstar Heroes.

You can't go wrong with either of these games or Tekken 2. Great thread. :smugfavre:

1988 was arguably the first year where Nintendo was becoming GOATendo. There was so much piff coming out that people missed out. I brought the game in a bargain bin years later and was shocked by how great it was. But since then people are recognizing how pioneering it was.
